My Vision

Psychotherapy is a creative process where you invite a therapist into your world to help with a troubling personal issue. Asking for help can make you feel vulnerable. This is especially true when considering therapy. You can wish for help and yet also feel reluctant to reach out, because doing so likely means facing up to deeply personal and painful subjects. Nevertheless, in our work together we build a connection – a relationship – that helps us weather whatever storms come our way in the therapeutic process. Our goal is to strive for meaningful change in your life. It is when I see this transformation take place that I believe, in psychotherapy, we do good and important work.

Approach: Psychodynamic

I like the following explanation of this kind of therapy:

Many of the things we say and do are often affected by emotional and psychological processes that are out of our conscious awareness. Therapy may help to make us more aware of how these processes shape the experience of self and others.
